Thanks for giving...

thankgiving was great. mac and i woke up around 10, he got a call from his mom about what to bring, and he left around 11. i chilled for a bit then headed up a little before 1. jeff and i got there and helped make the mashed potatoes and casserole as mac made his famous, homemade pumpkin pie, DELICIOUS! ate and hung out a bit, then headed to BK to meet a bunch of friends having a thanksgiving celebration at their apartment. everyone there was wasted already and i was completely sober, but ended up taking a few shots to catch up and got a lil tipsy, not much tho. it was a great thanksgiving, now we just wait for christmas to arrive, it'll be here before we know it. i am still so into getting gifts for everyone. i kinda get too into it and intense. i have already finished my family, now i am working on mac's fam. just ordered DVD's online for the kids, just need the adults and baby twins. the adults are tough, still working on ideas. i am pretty sure i am going to get his sister a hat from flying A since diana can give me a discount, and i love my discounts! never buy anything full price,..or at least try not to. i get too excited around christmas time. i make me a list and write down ideas, then mark them off when i am done with what i actually got them, i just keep checking them off. and if i see something somewhere that i know someone i wasn't even planning on getting a gift would like i buy it for them. well, my hunt for the perfect gifts for the huelsters will continue, i have a month, i'll be good.

Jade and I went thrift shopping all day today and totally scored! first we went to the 2 shops by mac's apartment and jade scored like 4 pairs of boots, a couple of flannels for her bf and a leather jacket, and i got a xmas sweat shirt for $5, mittens for $1, a pair of sweet heels for $10 and a beanie for mac that says "mack" on it for $5. then we went to a shop near my apartment that has a bunch of awesome boots, and i scored the 3 pairs pictured above. i got all 3 for $130 total! fuckin scored. they are all in really good condition and jade even said that they had a couple of the same pairs i bought, at her store, and they cost like almost $200 each there. it was such a good shopping day for us. i have been needing shoes for so long. pictures of the rest of my scores below.....

UPDATE: Mac actually saw that "MACK" hat the last time he was at the thrift store, but didn't get it because there was a K on it. i told jade that i knew he wouldn't but i got it anyway. so i am going to get white yarn and cover up the K for him, he said he would wear it if i did that. won't be too hard, and it'll be worth it cause it's an awesome hat.

christmas coming up...

i have created my christmas list of people i need to shop for, and it's pretty long. but they are pretty much all family, mine and mac's. since i am going with mac back to MN for christmas i have to come bearing gifts, just as i did last year, so i have my list made up, but one things that sucks is that i have to take the stuff with me on the plane, therefore i cannot get anyone anything liquid. no beauty products for anyone then. booo, that makes it a little harder, cause i had some ideas that involved liquid or materials not allowed in a carry-on anymore. i pretty much know what i'm getting mac, my family is pretty much covered except for the kids and my sister. mac's family i got nothing. i can't even think of anything good. it's tough cause i don't really know them that well. i kinda killed it last year though, not amazing gifts, but they just happened to need whatever i got them, or know about what it was. scored. gotta have a good follow up, but no ideas. not yet anyway.

photoshoot

my friend suzette and i had a totally last minute photo shoot last night. she goes to parsons for photography and needed to get a shoot together. i was off yesterday so it worked out,..sort of. we ended up meeting too late and the sun had already gone down, and we had no lighting. she was shooting film so we weren't able to see if they were coming out right, so we just had to hope that something came out ok. she got them developed right after and she said they actually came out. she calls it a "happy mistake" we used some colored smoke bombs/balls. i want to see those, i bet that was cool. here is one of the images she just shot with her phone, i think. she is scanning more so hopefully i get to see how the rest turned out.

I had no idea this show was happening, but i just happened to be having dinner at Matsuri, next door and found out that T-Pain was having his surprise album release party/show at Hiro later that night. I wasn't sure if I was even going to attempt to get in because the line was around the block. But luckily I am still in with my friends at Matsuri so we snuck in through the kitchen and got in no problem. I told Mac about it, but he was getting a tattoo out in brooklyn at the time and there is no reception inside of Hiro. So the show started at 10 and ended at 11:30. after it was over i went back to Matsuri to get my coat and then got all of Mac's texts trying to get in. Turns out, he, JJ and Jeff were outside trying to get in, i had no idea. I felt so bad, but there was nothing i could do. Anyway,..it was a good time, especially because it was so unexpected, lucked out being there at the right time. perfect!

christmas wish....

so christmas is nearing and i need a new laptop. i decided to email my parents now, to give them advanced notice on what to get me. i know neither of them are willing to pay for the whole thing (even though my dad just bought my sister a macbook pro with a free itouch a couple months ago), so i asked them to contribute to my laptop fund. my mom responded and said she would contribute, but can't give an amount yet, and she is going to pass the word on to her parents to see if they would like to add to the fund as well. i am still waiting to hear back from the father, the one who bought my little sister a fancy ass laptop of her own. haha. i could never ask him to buy me one, especially after he just got jade one. but hopefully i can accumulate at least half the price, if not more. if any of you people, friends and randoms feel like contributing, please feel free. i will give you my account number and you can make the deposit straight to my citibank account. thanks!

Banged up!

yes, i did it. i just got a haircut on Friday, and at the time couldn't decide on bangs of no bangs, so i just left it as they were. but last night, after a couple days of thinking, i did it. i had to. i needed a change and my hair was just so boring. and i think i like it. change is good.

UPDATE: i have been told by 2 people that my eyes look blue in this picture. all i can say to that is,..I WISH. but unfortunately i am asian, we don't get that kinda luck. must just be the reflection.....

i just posted about 10 blog posts here in the last 20 minutes. they are all from random days in the last month or so. i just copied them from another blog that i have and am just transferring these from, so it'll look weird, but this is my new blog so from here on out, it'll be updated on the proper date. sorry, i'm a mess, but i'll get it together soon, i promise. haha.

Barack Obama

I just watched some video of barack obama in hawaii, just another hawaiian making it big in the world,...well he made it the BIGGEST one could make it. i am so proud of him, and so hopeful for what he has the potential to do for this country. he has really been thinking about the issues and planning them for years awaiting his chance in the white house. there is a lot to clean up, we all know that, and we all need to understand it can't be fixed in a day, or possibly even his 4 year term, but he definitely has the ability, smarts and power to make a lot of change for the better. he knows what needs to be done and is ready to start working on it.

thinking about how slavery was once a reality, it was the life of african american people, and now, in this day, we have a african american president of the United States of America, voted by the american people of all races. he blew john mc cain out of the water and turned 6 states from red to blue. and like our president elect said during his acceptance speech, we are not red, or blue, we are the United States of America. we need to stop seeing a line between races, and we have to stop seeing a line between political parties, and all come together to make this country the best it can be. i sound really serious right now, but i guess i am in a serious mood. i really am extatic that Barack is going to be our next president. not only is he the first black president, which is a huge step forward for america, but he is a president that is loved by everyone regardless of his race, he is a promising president, someone who thinks straight, rather than crooked, the way the past presidents have. he could possibly end up being the most decorated president in history! and i cannot wait to be a part of it, experience it, live it.

there is a lot of hope in this country,...finally.

muther fuckin OBAMAAAAAA!!! 11/05/08

Holy shit! last night was one of the most amazing days/nights of my life, and in american history. I was at a friends apartment with a bunch of friends watching the election....so nervous, scared and also kinda of excited though you never know what could happen. at 9, we kinda already had a strong feeling barack had it, after they announced Pennsylvania,...but we still had a few more key states to win, but at 11pm, when the polls on the west coast closed, and they announced officially that barack obama was to be the 44th president of the United States of America,..we all jumped up and started to scream!! a few minutes later we heard screaming from the streets, and decided we had to get out there. we got down to the street and everyone was screaming, honking their horns, jumping around!! it was amazing. it was like rejoiceing of the entire city. people were yelling "OBAMA!!!" from their windows, every which where they were screaming. we went to watch his acceptance speech on the street with the rest of the new yorkers, and just got all teared up. i couldn't help it. they are just a vision of beauty, president, first lady, vice president and his wife standing there,..looking like the perfect picture. i am in love......

DA MAN!! 11/03.08

election day is tomorrow, and i am getting really nervous! in less than 48 hours (hopefully) we will know who the next president of the united states will be for the next 4 years! i don't know what i would do it Mc Cain and Palin won, seriously. i know i said i would move to Paris, but would it just be that easy? if my friends decided that is what they were going to do, i would definitely join them.

new subject...
so today the style editor from Marie claire was scheduled to come in for a walk through for their new shopping guide coming out in June. when Nicola came in to meet with us, she let me know that the style network would be filming her walk through with us doing what we always do. it's a new show that follows magazine editors on their appointments and shit, no idea really, but some new style network show. but anyway, so nicola and i walked her through the store, they put mics on us and everything, and made us reshoot certain parts, fake walk in, fake introduction, fake walk out. haha it was funny. anyway, so watch for me in march! forget the name of the show, something like "walking in heels" or something. can't remember. anyway, yeah it was funny.

i really need to go to the dentist,..really. but i don't have one, nor do i have the money to front for the bill. cause i think i have to pay upfront, and then get reimbursed, i an't got that kinda money, sheeeit. but it's getting bad. i know i need a cleaning and probably a couple fillings. and i have a broken molar i need fixed. ughh i hate this part of being an adult. hahahhaha, oh life. i also need to get a haircut and color it darker, over these roots for real!

dance party USA.... 10/25/08

was last night at trophy bar. me, erin and her friend alpha murdered the dancefloor with the illest moves you could ever imagine. we even had a rehearsal corner and everything. if we felt like we needed time to perfect a move, we would go to that corner and work it out and come back when we felt it was ready to be shown to the public. we each at the end of the night acquired a "signature move" and they were all pretty amazing. i didn't even mean to go out last night really, but i ended up dancing the night away and getting home at 4am! and i had to work today. i'm so tired, and might go out again tonight. i'm off tomorrow so i figured why not right? unless i come crashing down after work. i'm def going to the fader fort straight from here, then who knows. maybe santos for a dance party. i have been in the dancing mood, and got to enjoy serious dancing last night, i should try to keep it up! but i need my partner in crime, miss erin hansen. she brings it out of me. good times.
